We call for the reopening of the Rafah Crossing Point and the restart of humanitarian supplies into Gaza

Further assault by the Israeli military on Rafah will result in increase in civilian casualties. Continued shelling and forcing people to run for their lives in a situation where vast majority of them are already uprooted from their destroyed homes, and on the verge of starvation, without access to clean water and suffering from multiple health problems, will result in more untold suffering.
In the year when the world marks 75 years of Geneva conventions, the international community must clearly recognise the violations of International Humanitarian Law in Gaza and exert pressure on Israel to uphold the protection of civilians.

The seizing and closure of the Rafah border crossing has a devastating impact on the humanitarian response, cutting the main aid lifeline into Gaza. Rafah crossing must be reopened immediately to restart humanitarian supplies into Gaza.
