INTERSOS is horrified and strongly condemns the killing of civilians both in Israel and the
Occupied Palestinian Territory. As an organisation working in five countries of the Middle East,
and although not operational in the Occupied Palestinian Territory, INTERSOS is extremely
concerned with the war in Gaza and the potential wider escalation of this conflict.
All parties must uphold International Humanitarian Law and International Human Rights Law
and ensure the protection of all civilians, civilian infrastructure, and healthcare facilities.
Access to food, water, electricity, fuel, and communication for the civilian population should be
immediately restored. Humanitarian corridors to bring essential humanitarian supplies to the
traumatised population in Gaza, and enable the evacuation of critical medical cases, should be
urgently established. Anyone held captive must be treated humanely. Hostages must be
released.
