INTERSOS INTERVENTION<\/h2>\n

 <\/p>\n

We make communities aware of the security measures for the prevention of contagion through sessions of up to 16 people at a time, continuing the seed distribution operations to the agricultural communities of Kousseri, Mora and Mokolo. We distribute personal protective equipment, install hand washing systems and raise awareness of safety measures for all people who benefit from food distribution. We are strengthening the community structures and committees for the identification and management of vulnerable cases and, moreover, we spread virus outreach messages through local radio stations.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

CONTEXT<\/strong><\/h2>\n

 <\/p>\n

To combat the pandemic, the government had developed a plan based on raising awareness, identifying and managing cases. Isolation and treatment centers have been identified. If the ability to test has been slightly strengthened, however, the number of infections is increasing. The ministry of health is working on identifying health personnel to be used for communicating risk and safety measures to communities. Closing borders has had a major impact on the lives of small traders and farmers. Access to food is very poor and donors are unable to ensure sufficient food rations for all people at risk of malnutrition. The security measures have been relaxed but the assembly ban remains. In the far north, the attacks of the Boko Haram armed groups continue to be registered despite the context of the spread of the virus and the invitation to the ceasefire by the United Nations.
