INTERSOS mourns the loss of our colleague Masoud Noori, who died in a tragic accident on May 21st 2021 in Afghanistan. We all express our profound sorrow and our most sincere condolences to his family and friends. As he was deeply loved and appreciated in his daily work, we want to remember Masoud through the words of his colleagues in Afghanistan.
Masoud Noori (33) was an artist, calligrapher, orator, and one of the most talented and devoted INTERSOS staff in the Afghanistan mission. He died in a tragic accident on May 21st while out buying a cake for his wife and three daughters as a surprise gift for their wedding anniversary. He joined INTERSOS on July 3rd, 2017 as our Admin Finance officer. He was a well-educated, very polite and optimistic person, always helping other people. He was an expert in solving issues in the mission. He had a big heart and was an honest, hardworking person.
Masoud’s motto was that if one person does not get his work done, it can hold up everyone else on the team, therefore he was always ready to help anyone in a difficult situation. His positive attitude created a supportive and stimulating working environment. INTERSOS lost a valuable colleague and the team lost a dear friend. Masoud will forever remain in our hearts and memories.
