This weekend has been very sad for us. Our colleague Elisabeth Kabankaya Odhiambo passed away two days ago, the 12th November in Yaoundè, Cameroun, after a short and terrible disease. We are still shocked by the sudden and unexpected demise of a skilled operator and a friend so deeply appreciated and beloved by everyone. Her smiling portrait had begun one of the iconic images of our organization.
Elizabeh has been working with INTERSOS since 2012, in Mauritania, and finally in Cameroun, assisting Nigerian refugees in the camp of Minawao. She has been a tireless and committed professional, putting always her big heart and passion in the work and loved by all the colleagues and beneficiaries she has assisted.
We will definitely miss Elisabeth, her generosity, kindness and happiness even during the hardships she faced during her work.
We extend our heartfelt condolences to his family. She has been for all of us a friend and a good example and she will be cherished in our memories forever.
