MOZAMBIQUE
INTERSOS was active
in Mozambique from 1993 until 2000.
One of INTERSOS'
first ever missions was in Mozambique, initially focusing on providing
assistance to refugees returning from Malawi. Later INTERSOS
supported local communities in rehabilitating water and sanitation
systems and provided training and job-creation for demobilised soldiers.
In 2000, INTERSOS
provided emergency assistance to vulnerable groups and to the population
affected by floods in February 2000.
