INTERSOS was present in India in 2001.

Activities in India centered on the Gujarat region following the earthquake of 2001. INTERSOS provided important support to the women's association 'SEWA'. Further, INTERSOS implemented projects focusing on rehabilitation of villages, water systems and schools. Funding for these projects came from the generous contribution of Italian private donors.
