BURUNDI

INTERSOS was active in Burundi from 1994 to 2003.

INTERSOS' presence in Burundi lasted approximately eight years, divided in two phases:

1) emergency response to the Rwandan refugees escaping from genocide in the refugee camps in Burundi, covering basic needs, community services and supporting the family reunification process.

2) support to the Burundese population affected by the consequences of the conflict, bringing assistance through essential services, i.e. health and education.
